Technology to be featured in new full HD home cinema front projector.

WAYNE, NJ, September 11, 2006 – JVC today announced new display technology that delivers a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1 and will be featured in new full HD home cinema front projectors.

At the heart of JVC’s new technology are three 0.7” 1920 x 1080 pixel full HD D-ILA (LCOS) devices that deliver a native resolution of two megapixels. A primary advantage of JVC’s D-ILA (Digital Image Light Amplifier) device is that it eliminates grids, or the “screen door effect”, found in other technologies, offering a high aperture ratio of more than 90 percent to ensure smooth, film-like images. When combined with JVC’s newly developed optical system, these devices can provide a native contrast of 10,000:1 and a brightness level of 800 lumens for natural yet vivid color reproduction and high contrast.

Verizon FiOS TV, High-Speed Internet Now Available to an Additional 8,600 Households in Hillsborough County; Company’s Video Franchises Cover 3 Million Households in Nine States

TAMPA, Fla. — Verizon today expanded the availability of its FiOS TV service to more than 8,600 households in FishHawk Ranch and some surrounding areas of eastern Hillsborough County, offering amazingly sharp pictures and sound and a true choice for subscription television and on-demand programming, via the company’s all-digital, fiber-optic network. Verizon is the only company to offer such a communications network all the way to customers in homes and offices across the country.

Verizon first began offering its fiber-optic TV services to over 30,000 households in Hillsborough County earlier this year. This number has steadily grown throughout 2006, with today’s activation increasing to more than 116,000 the total number of households eligible to receive FiOS TV service in Hillsborough County.
