Customer Rating: Summary: Samsung fire hazard Comment: What can I say. Bought this item to go with a full new set for theater in the house. Worked great for a few months and then room filled with smoke and it was done. Got ahold of Samsung because of the fire and warranty they were less than helpful.I ended up having to buy a new one and then taking my system back to the store I bought it. My next system worked for around 8 months last night the same thing happened the room filled with a very horrible smell and then a little flicker of light in the back of the system it was on fire. Scared the crap out of the Kids I will not buy Samsung for the fact the Customer service sucks along with there product. So I would say stay away from samsung.
Customer Rating: Summary: Love this system Comment: Easy to set up, and was surprised how well it interfaced with my Sharp TV. Like the 'no button' barely touch controls. Amazing product for the price. Researched it on the internet and maybe could have gotten it 10-20 bucks cheaper, but didn't know the online retailers. Trust Amazon so bought here.
Customer Rating: Summary: Extreme Wireless Interference! Comment: I bought this product a few months ago because I wanted a 5 CD changer and wireless rear speakers. Setup of the product was fairly easy, although the manual didn't specify (at least to what I could see) that you had to put in a CD to calibrate the speakers. I called tech support and they helped me figure out that problem. The overall sound was OK. It's definitely an upgrade from your normal TV speakers. Now, on to the major problem with the product: wireless interference. I had my wireless box near the back of the room and it was pretty noisy. After setting up the system, I opened my laptop and found I couldn't get a wireless internet signal. I thought it was just some congestion on the 2.4GHZ frequency, so I unplugged our cordless phone, doorbell and moved the router closer...still nothing. So I bought a USB card antenna to up the signal to a wireless 'N' signal. I finally got a brief signal that would cut in and out. I called tech support and they suggested just changing the channel (as if I hadn't tried every signal already). Nothing worked. For a couple of months I managed by pulling out the wireless card in the back of the receiver to disengage the wireless speakers. But after a while, it just became frustrating to have 'surround sound' that wasn't surrounding me with sound. I finally took the system back and upgraded to a Onkyo HT-S6200 7.1-Channel Home Entertainment Receiver/Speaker Package with Dock for the iPod I am very happy that I did. I'd stay away from this product if you plan on using any other wireless signals in the area. This system will drown it out completely.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Value Comment: Unit works great. Sound quality is very good for the price. The receiver device for the "wireless" speakers has a cooling fan that is a little noisy, but not bad. I've plugged a memory stick into the USB port containing MP3 music and JPEG picture files. This unit can switch between music and picture files with no problems. Very impressive. Alot of capability for the bucks.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not so much wireless rear speakers Comment: I've read the reviews on this Home Theater System, & really didn't need the $1,000+ sound system. I just wanted to upgrade the sound from my Samsung 52" T.V.
Well, when I see that the rear speakers are "wireless" & have to use WIRES to connect to a wireless device, it's a little deceptive. I can't just put these speakers anywhere. They've got to ge attached to a wireless receiver that's plugged into a wall socket.
I must say that it's an upgrade from the television's speaker system & works for my 400 sq. ft. room.
