With plug and play simplicity, you can easily connect your iPhone, iPod Classic, Touch or Nano to your Denon music or home theater system, and enjoy command and control via your Denon component's remote control. The ASD-11R features a wide range of connectivity for the various iPod and other Apple models, and provides stereo audio outputs along with S-video output, so you can enjoy viewing photos and videos on your TV. Many Denon A/V receivers and other music and home theater components feature Dock Control ports for simple and quick connection to the ASD-11R (different models have different levels of remote control functionality). The ASD-11R also features charging capability, and is elegantly styled to match your iPod, etc. For more information about various iPod features and functions compatibility with the ASD-11R dock, please download the compatibility and functionality chart for iPod docks, cables and systems document. http://www.usa.denon.com/Denon_Docks_iPod_Compatibility_101909A.pdf.

Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointing Comment: I would not recommend this product to anyone. It works if you get the ipod to connect well. At times it will be playing along then just quit. If you reposition the ipod it will play again. I gets very annoying to have to do this so many times a day.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good sound, but doesn't do much more than a $10 wire. Comment: I bought the Denon ASD-11R Ipod Dock as a companion to my new Denon receiver. I was excited about the prospect of a user-friendly interface that controls my iPod easily from my receiver. The product was somewhat useful, but the interface was clunky and slow.
The high points:
Great sound, the ability to select music right on the reciever (or on the TV).
The low points:
1. The user interface on the TV was very primitive. It looked like I was playing Pong, circa 1978. No cover art (or design of any kind), despite what the Best Buy salesman old me. I can't believe this interface exists in 2010.
2. To make things worse, scrolling through songs (either on the receiver or the TV) takes FOREVER. It doesn't have a speed-up function, so you have to see every single song or artist go by as you search. Say you want to scroll down to a particular song that starts with W or Z. It could take as long as 3 or 4 minutes to get through everything, depending upon the size of your iPod. Ridiculous.
Bottom line is - save 90 bucks and just use an audio cable, or buy something better. I took mine back and bought Apple TV - solely for the music functions - which I completely love!!! Apple TV synchs to the iTunes library on my PC instead of tying up my iPod, requires almost no setup, I can control it from my iPhone, it has an awesome (but simple) TV-based interface with cover art and track info (with a nice font), is easy to use, displays all my album art (or photo library) as a really nice screen saver, and has tons of radio stations to choose from. (And you can see movies and TV shows on it) I leave mine on all day. It has totally got me back to listening to albums, seeing the cover art, and appreciating music all over again. It is $229, but well worth the investment if music is your thing.
Customer Rating: Summary: An Excellent Choice Comment: The Denon ASD-llR iPod Dock is compact and functions perfectly. I bought it to add to my Denon RCD-M37 small stereo system which I put in my kitchen. Together they serve my needs very well.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good for Denon Receivers - Menu very weak... Comment: Reasonable product, easy to plug and play - but if you want to be able to search thru your music while watching TV, etc - well, that functionality is pretty weak. I use just for selecting the various mixes I have created and do that directly from the iPod itself - I have a cobbled together system with different brands and the TV is the weakest link being 8 years old...but for (...) its a good purchase for what I needed and it is purely plug and play - something I appreciate.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not that bad!!!! Comment: The device is easy to use, but there is no button to turn it on/off and you never know if it's working when i-pod is plugged.
