Customer Rating: Summary: Good transition TV Comment: First 2 features different than most in this class. No PC input, but a game mode for HDMI and it has RCA audio outputs instead of a headphone jack.
Things I like:
When you switch channels/inputs there is only a small display box in the corner for a brief time instead of the information bar that many display.
The LAST button not only alternates between 2 channels, but between a channel and an input(Component, 3 HDMI, 2 Composite, SVideo). Also you can enter a channel number while watching an input and it will change to TV in and that channel.
There are 3 display setting modes which can be altered and applied to all inputs, plus a CUSTOM mode which can be different for each input.
It automatically mapped out scrambled cable channels during the scan and allows channel labeling(as well as input labeling).
Not only can you choose to scan for Analog, Digital or Analog and Digital, you can choose to surf any of one of these groups or FAVORITES( 3 groups of 10).
The remote keys are laid out well, except for Volume/Channel rockers are opposite of most of my other remotes. No need to go through menus for most common changes.
Somewhat talks HDMI CEC to my Philips DVD player(DVP5990/37).
This is a great TV for people moving from an SD set.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Bang for the Buck Comment: I purchased this as a my second LCD (my other is a 40" Samsung) and I got it to go in the kitchen.
As I only currently have one HD feed (I have standard definition in the kitchen via Dish dual tuner), buying something that looked good with SD was a big factor. Based on ratings I saw on Consumer Reports, on sites like Amazon as well as through comparisons in the stores to Samsung and Sony 26" LCDs, I went with the Panny.
This set has been everythign I had hoped for. Great viewing angles, nice colors, quality sound, and it makes SD look pretty darn good.
I have even messed around on it with my PS3 some and it looks great in HD too.
Customer Rating: Summary: Recommend Comment: I purchased this because Consumer Reports rated it highly. It met my needs and more. The viewing angle is very wide. It was easy to set up. It arrived the day it was promised. The picture is very sharp and I do not have HD cable. I would recommend this set to anyone who is looking for a 26" TV.
Customer Rating: Summary: And people think this is small? Comment: I've had this for four months now and have no complaints. Video is good - the few things I get digitally at this point are excellent. Sound is much better than I had thought possible. It was easy to get up and running. I have extremely limited space for a t.v. and the biggest one I had ever owned was 15" because anything bigger was too deep for the shelf it had to sit on. I decided flat-screens had come down enough for me to make my move. The strong Consumer Reports evaluation of the 32" sibling of this one was what caused me to investigate it initially. I'm very happy I bought it. From my perspective 26" is just gigantic. And at this size, the 720 vs. 1080 thing really makes no nevermind.
Customer Rating: Summary: First time with Amazon, Sixth Avenue Electronics and LCD TV Comment: This was my first purchase from Amazon and Sixth Avenue Electronics, as well as our first HDTV. I was shocked to see the UPS truck in my driveway less than two days from the time I placed the order ( Live in the Chicago area and product shipped from New Jersey ), especially since it is the Xmas season. Priduct arrived in a sealed carton and brand new as promised. Perfect picture and sound is fine. Just have to read the manual to hookup our DVD Recorder and Playstation. Highly recommend these companies who had the best prices on the Internet. Bought this
set because it was rated #1 in December Consumer Reports. Will buy more HDTV sets in the future from these companies, with the new Digital Conversion coming this February.
