TDK 4.7GM DVD+R media offers the widest compatibility with computer drives and home DVD players. Ideal for general purpose recording, a single TDK DVD+R has ample capacity for thousands of digital photos, up to six hours of videa and large mission-critical data files. Each DVD+R disc can be fully recorded once. As DVD recording speeds have increased, the importance of using name brand, quality media has become paramount. When a DVD+R is recorded at high sppeds, the fast RPM's of the recording process require an advanced, ulrra-sensitive recording material capable of compensating for the abbreviated exposure to the drive laser. Specially formulated with a rapid phase-change recording layer, TDK DVD+R media maximizes the data transfer rate while minimizing the potential for errors. The discs have been thoroughly tested and verified to outperform other media brands, which may rely on slow-reacting, error-prone phase-change materials. TDK AVIST metallic alloys change between crystalline and amorphous states in response to the heat generated by a laser for phase-change recording. The differences in reflectivity exhibited by the alloy in its crystalline and amorphous states are read as data. TDK AVIST alloys are designed for the most precise laser response, resulting in perfect data marks and superior recording and playback performance.

Customer Rating: Summary: burn speed not as represented Comment: Every disc on this spindle burned at a maximum speed of 4X. This was the case on two different burners made by two different manufacturers, one of which was a TDK burner. It was also true using different software burning programs. I've never experienced this problem with any other DVD after many years of using many different brands, including TDK. If you're looking for a 4X disc, these are probably fine. I had no problems burning at low speeds, but the packaging and product descriptions were, for me, inexplicably inaccurate and frustrating.
Customer Rating: Summary: dvd Comment: THIS IS MY SECOND PURCHASE OF THESE TDK DVDS. I WILL PURCHASE THEM AGAIN AS I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THEM.
Customer Rating: Summary: Never again Comment: I have used TDK disks for many years. Not any more.
This stack of DVD's simply does not work. I have two DVD burners, and I have trouble
burning on both of them with these DVD's. In fact, I have made 19 coasters so far.
Out of 19 tries. That's a pretty dismal record.
Customer Rating: Summary: Incorrect item sent... Comment: Ordered DVD+R discs but DVD-R discs were sent instead. Contacted seller, stated Fed-Ex would email return label to return item. Correct item could not be sent out until the incorrect item was rec'd by seller. Have not received any email or return label from Fed-Ex or seller. Poor customer service and will not order from again from seller.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Quality - Low Price - Better than Big Brabds Comment: Before I purchased this, I read customer comments - most of which were gripes and complaints and one fabricated story about the layers pealing off - LOL. Maybe these are just folks who happened to get a bad batch - that happens with darn near any product ending up with some defective bacthes getting by inspectors.
Having said that - I took the chance and ordered the TDK 100 DVD+R pack because I couldnt afford anything else. I was scared to even try it after the package arrived. I expected at best - just so-so quality, something i could tolerate. HOWEVER - I WAS AMAZED AT THE QUALITY PICTURES It delivered. I collect my favorite Tv shows off Tv - and WOW it out performed Memorex, Sony and another top brand (cant recall at the moment) Blank recordable DVDs.
I say ignore the complaints - if you get a bad batch just ask to send it back for exchange. The same you would do with any product. My rule is if after a product as been replaced and even the replacement sucks - THEN - ask for a refund. Give a product a chance first.
